Single @ Paskuhan feels

Because some subjects are not just meant for study.. sometimes they bite you in the ass and remind you you're single for Christmas.. New Year... *sigh* Valentines Day... aaaand (let's hope not) but probably for the rest of your life.

I noticed that lately my subjects for this semester seem to be speaking to me in some weird, depressing, hugot from the bottom of some hopeless romantic's diary-kind of way:

         Biology:

“All we know is that some things are attracted towards
other things and repelled from others.”

- Scott, A. on the force of attraction
The Creation of Life, 1986

  • A scientific explanation to why faith doesn't bother apologizing after letting you run around in circles heels over head in love, letting you believe a particular he or she is 'the one'

    Philosophy:

Constanze Mozart: No. I'm not going to marry you. You're a fiend!
Mozart: [speaking backwards] Ooy vol I tub. Ooy vol I tub!
Constanze Mozart: Tub, but. I. Vol, love... But I love you?
Mozart: [nods, mouths] I love you.

     - (Amadeus, 1984 film)

  • Because unconventional sweet nothings is underrated

    SCL 3
    (Theology IV):

“our right over things is not absolute...”

    - (Towards Christian Social Involvement, 2001)

  • This probably means that as much as he says he's so into you one day, he can just as easily fall off your arms the next. Nothing can be set in stone except change, so man up and accept that nothing or no one is truly yours until you put a ring on it (sometimes not even then...)

    Filipino:
    (Retorika)

“Mahirap kaya yung ganon. Ang lamig lamig tapos ang
                                   kayakap mo lang, sarili mo??”

    - Sir Eros Atalia on discussion about
    Hungary's Gloomy Sunday 1933

  • So much feels on this one. What's the use of an MTV kind of weather without someone to share it with?

English:
(Oral
Communication)

“When we speak, there are things that have to be considered... [one is]
what we actually do when we say it.. is called illocutionary force”

- Austin and Searle (1969)

  • Sometimes the problem isn't about not being able to say what you feel. Sometimes it's as depressingly tragic as not being able to say and act what you feel. Once in your life you'll get the chance to show someone how much you care but still deny it in words out of sheer cowardice of being denied back

    ***

    Phil. History:

“It took patience and a spirit of dedication on the part
of a man to win the hand of his fair lady.”

     - on Early Customs And Practicesof the Filipino
    - Agoncillo, T. (1990)

  • Every girl with chick flick and chivalry obsession will understand
